Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Natel Lawson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Rafael (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Natel Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jack Rafael!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Skip Squint and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Lawson as Rafael shoots in.

Rafael moves into the clinch.
Lawson tries to pull guard but Rafael won't allow it.
Lawson jumps guard but Rafael turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Rafael gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Lawson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Rafael pulls his head out easily.

Rafael is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lawson defends it well.

Rafael is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Lawson is just riding it out for now. Rafael eventually gives up the hold.

Rafael is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Lawson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Rafael.

Rafael drops back, looking for a kneebar! Lawson looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Lawson looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Lawson!

Lawson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rafael's guard.

Lawson is looking for a sweep. Rafael is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rafael is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Rafael is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Lawson!

Rafael goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Lawson is on top in guard.

Rafael is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lawson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lawson has escaped and now he's on top!

Rafael is stalling here. Lawson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Rafael seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Lawson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
