PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Cezar De Lima (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Shamrock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). De Lima comes to the cage accompanied by DosCe- Urban Mafia. Shamrock is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The World most Dangerous Man. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Julio Cezar De Lima!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ken Shamrock!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Alec Ball and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shamrock shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. De Lima manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

De Lima is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Shamrock sitting in guard, not really doing much.

Shamrock stands up from guard. Let's bang!
De Lima closes the distance looking to clinch

and Shamrock counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Shamrock turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Shamrock scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at De Lima to see if he's OK.

That's one minute gone in the round.
De Lima bucks up and tries to throw Shamrock off but instead Shamrock has got his back!
De Lima controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Shamrock lands with a hammerfist to the side of De Lima's head.
De Lima covers up after taking a massive shot to the side of the head.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shamrock is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
De Lima tries to escape but Shamrock has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Shamrock patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
This has been an exciting period of action!
I would not like to be De Lima right now.
Shamrock lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
De Lima trying to get back to his feet but Shamrock is in full control for now.
Shamrock slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
De Lima is really stuck here.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
A lull in the action here.

Shamrock is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
De Lima is taking damage to the body and head.

De Lima is keeping busy.
De Lima tries to break free.
Shamrock lands punches and elbows.
Shamrock is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Shamrock is looking to control De Lima but De Lima is wriggling around and keeping busy.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Shamrock controlling the positon.
De Lima tries to break free.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Shamrock has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Shamrock doesn't have the hooks in and De Lima manages to turn into his guard.

Shamrock looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Shamrock is on top in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De Lima is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Shamrock slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ken Shamrock dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.



Shamrock drives through with a takedown into guard.

Shamrock looking to improve position, pressing down on De Lima's thigh with his hand. De Lima seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Shamrock paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Shamrock's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! De Lima picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Julio Cezar De Lima!
Our winner, Julio Cezar De Lima, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
