Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brutus Nash (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think James might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Tuesday's Gone. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tommy James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brutus Nash!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Yves DeLean and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nash gets a takedown into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nash in particular looking to stall.
Nash is trying to advance to mount but he's lost his balance and James reverses the position - he's now on top in Nash's guard.

Nash looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Nash isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. James stacks Nash on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by James!
James looking to control but instead Nash has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

Nash wants to control but James is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Brutus Nash seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Nash.

The ground and pound from Nash seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
James won't allow Nash to pass to mount.
James tries to kick Nash off but Nash keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Nash thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed James's head.

Nash is taking a breather. James says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
James has his hands clasped together around Nash's back. He's all about the action.
James has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nash is working away from the top position though.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Nash uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by James.
James dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Nash throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Nash throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around James's waist but James gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Nash off to one side.
Nash changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. James tries to avoid it but Nash manages to keep hold of a leg and drag James to the ground. James escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Nash tests James's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Nash closes the distance and lands a one-two.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Brutus Nash will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Nash might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Brutus Nash was stalling too much, according to the referee.
James stalks Nash and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Nash's face. Nash staggers backwards, shaken.

Nash finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

and James counters with a nice uppercut.

and James counters with a three punch combo that has Nash backing up. Nash nods at James to acknowledge the strikes.

Nash shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with James but James pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nash takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
James throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Brutus Nash is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
James cracks Nash with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy James.
I think Nash has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
