Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dmitrtiy Koschelev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Egor Stalov!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Dmitry Maklakov and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Stalov has Koschelev up against the cage in a clinch.
Koschelev managing to block the knees to the body from Stalov.
Stalov keeps control of Koschelev as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Stalov keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Koschelev's efforts to push away.
Stalov will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Koschelev up against the cage.

Stalov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Stalov shoots and misses
and Koschelev counters with a head kick.
Koschelev scores with a punch to the head.

Stalov swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Koschelev counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Koschelev's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Koschelev duly obliges.
Stalov shoots in but Koschelev avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Stalov shoots in for a double leg but Koschelev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Koschelev is trying to break the clinch but Stalov has him pressed against the cage.

Stalov jumps guard but Koschelev turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Stalov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Koschelev just stands there and leans against the cage.

Stalov breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Stalov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Koschelev avoids it really well and circles away.
Stalov looks winded!

Koschelev bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Koschelev is looking to clinch but Stalov is avoiding it.
Koschelev comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Koschelev connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Stalov's hands.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Stalov takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Stalov moves in looking to clinch but Koschelev pushes him off.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Koschelev throws a right and a left that both miss.
Stalov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Koschelev swivels and escapes.

Koschelev tries to close the distance and clinch but Stalov swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Dmitrtiy Koschelev is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Stalov looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Koschelev!
Stalov thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Stalov trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Stalov swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Koschelev is now in Stalov's guard. A big mistake from Stalov there, giving up the dominant position!

Stalov is working an open guard so Koschelev takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Stalov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stalov. Koschelev does a little dance to reset his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Koschelev. No joy for Stalov on that attempt.
Dmitrtiy Koschelev has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Egor Stalov.
Stalov is breathing heavily.

Koschelev lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Koschelev tries to clinch but Stalov is having none of it.
Koschelev tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Stalov manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Koschelev is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

A close second round but Egor Stalov will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Stalov tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Koschelev was well out of range. Poor timing from Stalov.

and Koschelev counters with a three punch combo that has Stalov backing up. Stalov nods at Koschelev to acknowledge the strikes.
Koschelev slaps away a takedown attempt from Stalov, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Dmitrtiy Koschelev is winning the standup battle so far.

Stalov shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Stalov was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stalov postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Koschelev looks a forlorn figure.

Stalov is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Stalov is looking for a triangle but Koschelev pushes his legs off easily.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Stalov can do anything to dispel that myth.
Stalov controls Koschelev momentarily but Koschelev frees himself.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Stalov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Koschelev defends well.
Koschelev trying to stand up but can't free himself from Stalov's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

I would just about give that final round to Egor Stalov.
