Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Bob Sapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Everett Chambers!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sapp instigates a clinch.
Chambers drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Sapp gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Sapp manages to break the clinch.
Sapp scores with a nice right hand.

Sapp lands a big head kick that sends Chambers tumbling to the mat! Sapp takes a step backwards and waves Chambers back to his feet - he wants the finish!


Chambers is rocked!


It looks like Everett Chambers has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sapp throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Chambers is still on wobbly legs! Can Sapp finish him?

Sapp moves into the clinch successfully.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Chambers is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Sapp gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Knees in the clinch landing for Sapp.
Chambers seems to have recovered his senses.
Sapp landing knees to the body.
Chambers looks winded!

Sapp breaks from the clinch.

Sapp changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Chambers looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Chambers stops Sapp from passing to mount.

Sapp decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sapp sizes up Chambers with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Sapp pushes Chambers up against the cage in a clinch.

Sapp pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Chambers gets tackled into the cage by Sapp. Sapp maintains the clinch.
Sapp is pressed up against the cage. Chambers has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sapp down to the mat. Sapp avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Bob Sapp has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Everett Chambers.

Sapp moves into the clinch.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Chambers takes a shot to the body in his stride.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sapp rushes Chambers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sapp manages to break the clinch.

Sapp rushes Chambers and presses him up against the cage.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Sapp breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Sapp has taken the fight to the clinch.

Sapp's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sapp connects with a high kick.

Sapp darts in and clinches Chambers up against the cage.

Sapp breaks the clinch.
Sapp jabs Chambers right on the nose. Chambers blinks but takes it well.

Chambers tries to keep at a distance but Sapp has taken the fight into the clinch.

Sapp manages to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Sapp breaks the clinch.
Sapp catches Chambers with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Chambers forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Bob Sapp!
Bob Sapp decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
