Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Savage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Swardson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roy Savage looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Roy Savage!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Swardson!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Daniel Cesar and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savage jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Swardson throws a shot from downtown. Savage moves away and avoids it.
Swardson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Savage misses with a few strikes there.
A head kick misses from Swardson.
The fight stays on the outside here - Swardson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Swardson misses with the combination.
Swardson looks to land a body kick but Savage moved away.

Swardson clinches.
Swardson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Savage is defending well for now.
With the fighters up against the cage, Swardson throws an elbow but misses.
Swardson tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Swardson throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Swardson manages to break the clinch.
Swardson is looking to clinch but Savage is avoiding it.
An inside leg kick lands from Swardson.

Savage drives through with a takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Savage avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Savage trying to control but Swardson is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savage trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Swardson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Savage is aware though and is defending well.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Savage wants to stand and escape but instead Swardson has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Swardson throws a big elbow that misses.
Swardson wants to control from the top but Savage keeps moving.
Swardson passes easily into side control. Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Swardson working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Savage on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Savage tries to get out of the position.

Swardson thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Savage is trying to escape the position but Swardson is controlling the position.
Swardson advances to full mount.
Swardson tries to control but Savage wriggling away.
Swardson looking to finish with strikes here!

Swardson trying to control but Savage is having none of it.
Savage is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Swardson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Savage is looking to escape.
Swardson is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Savage can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Swardson is landing with some decent strikes but Savage is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


It looks like Roy Savage has been cut.
Savage is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Swardson unloads with some shots from mount but Savage bucks and avoids them well.
Savage is bucking up trying to escape but Swardson cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Swardson in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


Savage is rocked!
Savage knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Swardson on the ground.
Swardson postures up and throws a massive shot that knocks Savage out cold! Two more strikes to his unconscious opponent for good luck and this one is all over! Swardson goes absolutely crazy with his corner! Wow, you can see how much that win means to him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:24 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Nick Swardson!
Nick Swardson decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
