Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Panzer Grenadier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Shields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grenadier comes to the cage accompanied by Esaka '96. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Panzer Grenadier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Shields!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shields lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Shields connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Grenadier momentarily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Grenadier looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Grenadier throws a one two combo.

It looks like David Shields has been cut.

Shields shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Grenadier's guard.

Grenadier is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Shields is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Grenadier to keep the fight standing.
Grenadier lands a left hand that snaps the head of Shields backwards.

Shields gets control of Grenadier's arms and successfully pulls guard. Shields will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Shields postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Grenadier is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Shields accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Panzer Grenadier.
Shields tries to clinch but Grenadier moves out of range.

Grenadier avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
David Shields seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Grenadier is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Panzer Grenadier will probably get the nod.

That's time! Grenadier's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Grenadier fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shields manages to avoid it.

Nice combo by Grenadier! Oh, that's hurt him - Shields falls to the canvas and Grenadier follows him into side control.

Grenadier cracks Shields with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Shields tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Grenadier pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Shields is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
