PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Miko Maia (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marko Huntti (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maia comes to the cage accompanied by Bulls on Parade. Huntti has chosen Atomic Butt Drop on Wanderlei Silva by Mark Hunt! as his entrance music. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, John Kavanagh and Jonathan Paton.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No joy there for Maia, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Huntti moves into the clinch successfully.
Maia lands a body shot in the clinch.
Huntti blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
A frustrated look appears on Huntti's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Maia pushes off an throws an elbow but Huntti leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Maia throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Huntti stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Maia throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Huntti tries to move into range but Maia moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Maia tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Huntti swivels and escapes.

Maia scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Huntti doesn't seem bothered though.
Maia fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Huntti avoids it really well and circles away.

Maia throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Huntti was covering up waiting for the punch and Maia finishes the takedown easily into guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Huntti wants to stand but Maia is controlling the position.

Maia stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Huntti swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Huntti had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maia defends it easily.

Huntti shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Maia lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Huntti at a distance.
Huntti steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Maia.
Maia throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Huntti has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Maia changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Huntti looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Maia tries to move to mount but Huntti blocks the move with his legs.

Huntti moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Huntti throws an overhand right that lands on Maia's shoulder, as Maia tries to avoid the shot.

Maia is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Huntti can do to turn this around?

Huntti shoots in for a double leg but Maia sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Maia throws a lazy right hand but Huntti sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Huntti dives in and grabs Maia's left leg, looking for a takedown. Maia pushes down on Huntti's head and hops out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Maia is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Huntti is hurt! He's hurt bad - Maia fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Huntti from any more punishment! Congratulations to Maia! Great finish!
