Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mark Renton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Simon Wiesenthal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Renton comes to the cage accompanied by Underworld - Born Slippy. Wiesenthal has chosen Who By Fire as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark Renton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Simon Wiesenthal!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wiesenthal on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Renton throws a shot from downtown. Wiesenthal moves away and avoids it.
Wiesenthal waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Renton.
Renton looks to score with a jab to the body but Wiesenthal is just out of range.
Renton rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Wiesenthal moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Wiesenthal misses with a takedown attempt - Renton sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Renton on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Wiesenthal. Wiesenthal obviously looking to wear him down.

Renton paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Wiesenthal lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wiesenthal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Wiesenthal throws a hook but Renton avoids it easily.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Wiesenthal, right into the meat.
Wiesenthal dives in and grabs Renton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Renton pushes down on Wiesenthal's head and hops out.

Renton shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Renton was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wiesenthal tries to reverse the position but Renton maintains control.
Wiesenthal is squirming around, avoiding Renton's attempts to control the action.

Renton working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Renton jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Wiesenthal is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Wiesenthal and Renton has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wiesenthal is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Renton's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Renton is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Wiesenthal makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wiesenthal.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Wiesenthal escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Renton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Wiesenthal is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Renton to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Renton shrugs it off.

Renton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Wiesenthal accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mark Renton will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Wiesenthal does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Simon Wiesenthal comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Wiesenthal has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
