Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mathew Winzer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fabio Gomes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fabio Gomes!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes keeps the fight on the outside.
Gomes circles away from the clinch attempt.
Winzer walks into a straight right hand from Gomes.
Winzer shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gomes as he avoids it easily.

Winzer scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Gomes tries to kick Winzer off in order to stand up. Winzer Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gomes explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Gomes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Winzer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gomes pinned against the cage. Gomes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Winzer shoots in for a takedown but Gomes shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mathew Winzer. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Winzer shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomes sprawls well. He's pushed Winzer's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gomes looks to land a left hand but Winzer moved out of range nicely.
Winzer shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gomes pinned against the cage. Gomes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Winzer avoids a kick to the body.

Winzer tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Gomes swivels and escapes.
Nice takedown defense from Gomes. No joy for Winzer on that attempt.

Winzer changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gomes looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Gomes is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

Winzer has hold of Gomes's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Gomes seems comfortable defending it but Winzer has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Gomes is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Gomes is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Winzer couldn't care less - he's delighted!
