The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch but Puempel swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Morgan looks to land a combination but Puempel avoids it well.
Dexter Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morgan throws a nice head kick!
Morgan lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Morgan clinches.
Puempel content to slow the pace in the clinch.
Puempel avoids a wild elbow strike from Morgan.
Morgan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Puempel is defending well for now.
Morgan is trying to maintain a safe position but Puempel gets an underhook and turns Morgan into the cage.
Puempel misses with an elbow strike.
Morgan avoids the elbow strike from Puempel, against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morgan has the Thai clinch. He lands a big knee to the head that stumbles Puempel - he's in trouble! Another big knee to the head from Morgan, and another! Puempel is out on his feet - the ref jumps in to save him and ends the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Dexter Morgan!
Dexter Morgan gave a mention to Vitality in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
