The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Sanchez looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Oneale shoots in for a takedown but Sanchez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Sanchez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Oneale circles away quickly and effectively.
Oneale avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Sanchez throws a series of punches but Oneale avoids them all with ease.
Sanchez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Oneale throws a predictable looking body shot
and Sanchez counters with a left to the body.
Oneale dodges the punch combination from Sanchez.
Oneale misses with an uppercut. Sanchez saw that one coming.
Sanchez wants to clinch but Oneale slips to the side

and Oneale counters with a nice double leg into guard.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Oneale with a flurry of punches that miss.
Oneale throws a big right hand that misses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneale not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Sanchez preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Oneale thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Oneale makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Oneale connects with a couple of short punches.
Oneale lands a couple of elbows.
Oneale has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oneale passes Sanchez's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Sanchez is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Oneale scores with a couple of nice shots.

Oneale is landing with some decent strikes but Sanchez is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
