Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mar Sus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Alencar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mar Sus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Igor Alencar!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Leandro Rodrigues and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alencar shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Alencar tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Sus counters with a takedown into side control.

Sus is trying to get an arm triangle but Alencar is defending well.
Alencar tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sus wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Sus wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Alencar, who protects the arm well.

Sus is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Alencar has escaped the position, nice work there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sus goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Alencar has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sus but great work by Alencar.
Sus is trying to get back to his feet.
Sus trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Sus sneaks out the side door and pushes Alencar away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Alencar shoots in for a double leg but Sus sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alencar has his takedown stuffed

and Sus counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sus.
Mar Sus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Alencar.

Sus drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Alencar manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Sus has Alencar in his guard.
Sus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Alencar tries to stand but Sus is controlling from the bottom.

Alencar wants to control from the top but Sus keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alencar prevents Sus from getting back to his feet.

Alencar gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
A slow jab from Alencar misses its intended target.
Sus keeps the fight on the outside.
Alencar lands with a cross.
Sus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Sus is breathing heavily.

Alencar pivots, looking for a leg kick but Sus is out of range and Alencar settles back down.
Igor Alencar seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Alencar wants to clinch.
Alencar throws a head kick but Sus moves out of range.
Sus stuffs the takedown attempt from Alencar. Alencar gets slowly back to his feet.
Alencar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sus as he avoids it easily.

Alencar shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sus defends it nicely.
Sus shoots for a takedown but Alencar saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Alencar tries to clinch but Sus is having none of it.
Alencar fails with a takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Alencar shoots in looking for a takedown but Sus manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Alencar's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mar Sus dominated that round.
That's time! Sus's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Sus shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Sus looking for a guillotine from mount but Alencar is having none of it.

Sus looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Alencar is looking to improve his position but Sus isn't that keen on the idea.

Sus has hold of Alencar's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Alencar manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Mar Sus overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Alencar just holding on.

Sus goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Alencar turns into him and now he's in Sus's guard.
Alencar tries to stand but Sus is controlling from the bottom.

Sus kicks Alencar off and gets to his feet.
Sus slaps away a takedown attempt from Alencar, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sus stuffs the takedown.

Alencar gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sus to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Sus is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Alencar is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Alencar has escaped and now he's on top!

Sus pushes Alencar off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Alencar shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Sus as he avoids it easily.
Mar Sus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Alencar.
Sus leaves Alencar with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Sus avoids a kick to the body.
Sus shoots in but Alencar avoids the takedown attempt easily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Alencar misses with a low kick.
Alencar tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Alencar shoots in for a takedown but Sus shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Sus is defended easily by Alencar.

Sus closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Sus lands in his opponent's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mar Sus dominated that second round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Sus is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Alencar's half guard.

Sus is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alencar is just riding it out for now. Sus eventually gives up the hold.

Sus is working for a kimura but Alencar is defending it quite comfortably.

Sus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Sus stalling away here and it's allowed Alencar to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Alencar is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Sus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Alencar throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Sus has gone for a leg lock! Alencar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sus's guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Alencar missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Alencar controlling from the top position.

Sus wriggles free and stands up.
Igor Alencar is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Alencar looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Alencar swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Sus counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Sus trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Alencar wants to reverse the position here. Sus has hold of a leg though and he's dropped back looking for a kneebar! The fighters roll across the mat but Alencar is forced to tap! Alencar looks devastated but at least his leg points in the right direction.
