The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kontos's jab looks to have found its range, popping Beltran under the eye.
It looks like Igor Beltran has been cut.
Beltran drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Kontos is trying to improve his position.
Beltran controls the position from side control.
Kontos throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Kontos is looking for a sweep.
Kontos trying to control but Beltran flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back!

Kontos avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kontos is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Kontos is pushing down on Beltran's leg trying to pass to half guard. Beltran is fighting to maintain full guard but Kontos has managed to sneak the leg through.

Beltran is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kontos pulls his head out easily.

Beltran working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Kontos doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Kontos manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Beltran is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Kontos drops back looking for a leg! Beltran is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Beltran manages to kick Kontos off! Kontos jumps back into Beltran's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Beltran has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kontos can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kontos is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Beltran is just riding it out for now. Kontos eventually gives up the hold.
