The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carneiro doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Atleetti counters with a series of strikes. Carneiro will be more careful next time no doubt.
Atleetti tries to bum rush Carneiro with a series of wild strikes but Carneiro uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

and Atleetti counters with a left and a right that stings Carneiro.
A jab from Atleetti does it's job there.
Carneiro shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Atleetti counters with a right hand to the body.
Antti Atleetti has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Diego Carneiro.

Atleetti rushes Carneiro and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Atleetti gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Carneiro looking for a kimura from the bottom but Atleetti passes into side control!

Atleetti has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Carneiro misses with a takedown attempt

and Atleetti counters with a shoot takedown. Carneiro fights it but they end up in guard.

Atleetti stands up from Carneiro's guard - Atleetti perhaps looking for a knockout.

Atleetti moves into the clinch.
Carneiro is working for takedown but Atleetti is calmly controlling the position for now.

Atleetti escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Carneiro has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Carneiro is still on wobbly legs! Can Atleetti finish him?
Carneiro gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Atleetti gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Carneiro is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
