Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brinkman throws a series of punches but Echavarria moves out of range.
Brinkman throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Echavarria wants to clinch up but Brinkman keeps it at a distance.
Echavarria throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Brinkman's waist but Brinkman gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Echavarria off to one side.
Echavarria fails with a takedown attempt.
Brinkman closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Echavarria tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Brinkman smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hector Echavarria. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Brinkman misses with a wild combination.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brinkman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Echavarria fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Brinkman fails in his attempt to clinch.

Echavarria manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Brinkman wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Echavarria's closed guard. He's half up but Echavarria has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Echavarria pivots and extends the arm, Brinkman falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Echavarria! Well done that man!
