Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Carl Otto!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Otto tries to bum rush Taalasmaa with a series of wild strikes but Taalasmaa uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Otto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Taalasmaa doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Otto moves into the clinch.
Otto is trying to push Taalasmaa away but Taalasmaa has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Taalasmaa working hard to break the clinch.
Taalasmaa tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Otto just stands there and leans against the cage.

Otto pulls Taalasmaa into guard.
Taalasmaa trying to control but Otto is working from the bottom.
Taalasmaa in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Otto is pulling down on Taalasmaa's head. It's preventing any offense from Taalasmaa, at least for the moment.
Taalasmaa has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's one minute gone in the round.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Carl Otto hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Otto avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Otto as Taalasmaa shoots in.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kari Taalasmaa. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Taalasmaa takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Otto has managed to clinch.
Taalasmaa struggles to land a body shot inside as Otto controls his hands.
Taalasmaa prevents Otto from breaking the clinch.
Otto tries to pull guard but Taalasmaa won't allow it.
Taalasmaa is looking to take this one to the mat.
Otto is trying to pull guard but Taalasmaa has him pressed against the cage.
Otto fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Otto looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Otto is trying to break free.

Otto turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Otto manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Taalasmaa is looking to regain half guard here but Otto keeps moving and retains side control.
Otto tries to advance to mount but can't.
Taalasmaa struggling a bit here.
Taalasmaa knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Otto on the ground.

Otto is trying to get an arm triangle but Taalasmaa is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Otto in side control, working for a kimura. He's got hold of an arm and he's torquing it... Taalasmaa is tapping! That's the end of the fight!
