Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Miles Steedman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nigel Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steedman comes to the cage accompanied by Last Man Standing. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Miles Steedman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Nigel Coleman!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Steve Erwin and Bruno Hogan.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Steedman shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Coleman is trying to defend but Steedman finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Steedman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Steedman is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Steedman is looking for a kimura here.

Steedman is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Coleman sees it coming and defends easily.

Steedman is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Coleman defends it well.

Steedman is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Coleman has managed to free his arm - good work.
Steedman could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Coleman is looking to escape.

Steedman is working for a kimura but Coleman is defending it quite comfortably.

Steedman is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Coleman is trying to control but can't.

Coleman manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Steedman checks a leg kick nicely.

Steedman closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Coleman to the mat! Coleman manages to get full guard.

Steedman drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Coleman manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Steedman has Coleman in his guard.

Coleman stands and steps away. Steedman gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Steedman is breathing heavily.

Steedman closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Coleman's guard.

Steedman is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Coleman is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Coleman has escaped and now he's on top!

Steedman is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Coleman wants to stand but Steedman is controlling his posture from full guard.
Steedman working a defensive guard but Coleman manages to pass into side control anyway.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Steedman stops Coleman from passing to mount.
Steedman tries to bench press Coleman off him but Coleman keeps the position.

Coleman has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Coleman gets caught flat footed, as Steedman shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Coleman is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Miles Steedman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Miles Steedman overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Steedman is working for a submission of some sort.

Steedman is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Coleman is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
