The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blood will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Pariss ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Blood moves away.
Blood shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Pariss sprawls well. Pariss wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Blood gets slowly back to his feet.

Blood fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Pariss sprawls well initially but Blood persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Pariss is trying to stand up here but Blood is controlling him well.

Blood looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Pariss is fending him off so far but Blood persists. Nope, Pariss circles away and we're back to standing.
Blood shoots in for a takedown but Pariss shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Pariss drops Blood with a beautiful combination! Blood stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Pariss is looking for the KO!

and Pariss counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Oh Blood is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Zen Blood's cut is getting worse.
A jab lands there for Pariss.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Pariss dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Blood seems to have got his legs back now.

Pariss sends Blood crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Pariss is motioning to the referee to let Blood up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Pariss throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Blood is defended easily by Pariss.

Pariss tries to bum rush Blood with a series of wild strikes but Blood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Blood throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Pariss's waist but Pariss gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Blood off to one side.

Diego Pariss is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Pariss stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pariss wants it to stay on the feet.
Diego Pariss seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Pariss has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Blood is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Pariss is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Pariss has escaped and now he's on top!

Pariss gets to his feet - Blood follows without any prompting.

That's time! Blood's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Pariss gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Blood to score an easy takedown into full guard.

and Pariss counters with a crisp one two that drops Blood! Pariss thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Blood to his feet! Blood is in big trouble!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pariss steps into range and unloads a brutal right left combo! Blood is out on his feet! Pariss sets himself and nearly takes Blood's head off with a straight right, sending him crashing to the mat! Wow, that was nasty... but awesome! Wooo!
