Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Turd Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roddy Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Turd Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Roddy Piper!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Piper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Anderson defends it nicely.
Piper shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Anderson but Anderson pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Anderson fails with the takedown

and Piper counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Piper.
Piper must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Piper throws an elbow that misses. Anderson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Piper's guard. Nice move by Anderson!

Anderson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Piper swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Anderson throws a strike but Piper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Anderson pulls Piper in close to prevent any damage.

Piper slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Anderson is looking for a sweep.
Anderson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Piper's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Piper thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Piper thows a huge punch but Anderson dodges it nicely.
Anderson tries to roll over but Piper keeps him under control.

Piper is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Anderson holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Piper tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Anderson wants to control but Piper is having none of it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Anderson tries to lock up and control but Piper gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Anderson is looking to improve his position but Piper isn't that keen on the idea.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Anderson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Piper.

Piper shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Anderson pulls Piper in close to his closed guard and prevents Piper from doing any damage or advancing position.
Piper wants to control from the top but Anderson keeps moving.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Anderson is on top in guard.

Anderson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Piper manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Anderson has Piper in his guard.

Anderson is pushing down on Piper's leg trying to pass to half guard. Piper is fighting to maintain full guard but Anderson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Anderson is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Piper is just riding it out for now. Anderson eventually gives up the hold.
Anderson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Piper does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Roddy Piper has got the better of the ground game so far.

Anderson seems to be looking for submissions.

Piper makes his way to full guard, as Anderson worked for a kimura.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Anderson postures up in Piper's guard and throws a big left but Piper blocks it.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Piper holds on and takes a little breather.

A close second round but Roddy Piper will probably get the nod - 10:9.

Piper shoots in looking for a takedown but Anderson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Piper's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Anderson throws a strike but Piper rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Piper drives through with a takedown into Anderson's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Anderson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Anderson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Piper's guard.

Anderson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Piper is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Anderson, into his guard.

Turd Anderson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Anderson has momentary wrist control but Piper slips an elbow through the middle.

I would just about give that final round to Roddy Piper.
Well Piper has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
