Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ty Coon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wai Sai Lok (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ty Coon has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ty Coon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Wai Sai Lok!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Skip Squint and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice takedown defense from Sai Lok. No joy for Coon on that attempt.

Coon has closed the distance and engaged Sai Lok in a clinch.

Coon drags the fight down to the ground.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Coon wants to get back to his feet but Sai Lok is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Coon looking to control.
Sai Lok preventing the sweep.
Coon trying to keep a closed guard but Sai Lok is proving a slippery customer.
Coon wants to sweep here but Sai Lok controlling him for the moment.

Coon really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We're going to have a standup here because Ty Coon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Sai Lok keeps the fight on the outside.

Sai Lok throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Coon's waist but Coon gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sai Lok off to one side.

Sai Lok gets tackled into the cage by Coon. Coon maintains the clinch.
Sai Lok blocks an elbow strike from Coon.

Sai Lok manages to break the clinch.
Sai Lok fails with a takedown attempt.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Coon.
Sai Lok tries for a takedown but Coon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Ty Coon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Wai Sai Lok.

Coon lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Coon.


It looks like Wai Sai Lok has been cut.
Coon shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sai Lok defends it nicely.
Sai Lok is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Coon.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Sai Lok is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Coon's half guard.

Coon working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sai Lok doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sai Lok manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Coon is looking to stand up but Sai Lok isn't so interested in that idea.

Coon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sai Lok is one step ahead there.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sai Lok's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Coon wants to control from the top but Sai Lok keeps moving.

Sai Lok is breathing heavily.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sai Lok wants to stand and escape but Coon is having none of it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ty Coon.
Sai Lok slaps away a takedown attempt from Coon, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Coon fails with a takedown attempt.
Coon tries to close the distance and clinch up but Sai Lok swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sai Lok leaves Coon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ty Coon. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sai Lok changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Coon tries to avoid it but Sai Lok manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Coon to the ground. Coon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Coon shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Sai Lok is not content to let Coon control the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sai Lok is defending against the submission attempts here by Coon.
The fighters are battling for position here. Sai Lok manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Coon would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Sai Lok is trying to control the position but Coon postures up.
Coon wants to control from the top but Sai Lok keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ty Coon.

Coon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Sai Lok did well to prevent Coon getting side control.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Coon tries to clinch up but Sai Lok circles away and keeps his distance.

Coon moves into range and clinches up with Sai Lok.

Coon is trying to control the position but Sai Lok postures up.
Coon manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sai Lok manages to get himself to full guard.
Sai Lok takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sai Lok wants to sweep here but Coon controlling him for the moment.
Coon wants to control from the top but Sai Lok keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Ty Coon.

Horrible takedown by Coon or perhaps it was just good defense by Sai Lok which made him look bad.
Sai Lok stuffs the takedown attempt from Coon. Coon gets slowly back to his feet.

Coon tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sai Lok paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Coon using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Sai Lok has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Sai Lok wants a takedown but no success here.

Coon decides to pull guard.

Sai Lok wants to stand and escape but instead Coon has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Sai Lok working a defensive guard but Coon passes into half guard.
Coon will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Sai Lok wants to improve his position but Coon is controlling well.
Sai Lok is refusing to be controlled, as Coon sits in half guard.
Coon is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sai Lok is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wai Sai Lok has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Coon tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sai Lok controls his leg.

We're going to have a standup here because Ty Coon wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Coon rushes Sai Lok and presses him up against the cage.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.

Coon looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Ty Coon showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Coon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
