PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mikhail Malakhov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mishko Tolstiy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tolstiy shoots in but Malakhov avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tolstiy blocks a leg kick.
A punch lands to the side of Tolstiy 's head but he takes it in his stride.

It looks like Mishko Tolstiy has been cut.
Tolstiy avoids a punch combination nicely.

Malakhov moves into the clinch.
Tolstiy is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Malakhov gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tolstiy tries to pull guard but Malakhov holds him up against the cage and eventually Tolstiy drops back down to his feet.
Mikhail Malakhov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mishko Tolstiy.
Malakhov misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tolstiy.
Malakhov is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Tolstiy tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Malakhov smiles and moves away.

Malakhov lands with a cross.
Tolstiy fails in his attempt to clinch.
Malakhov stuns Tolstiy with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Tolstiy looks winded!
Malakhov wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Malakhov clinches up with Tolstiy and pushes him back against the cage.
Malakhov lands a hook to the side of the head.
Malakhov lands a damaging elbow.
A left hand lands to the body for Malakhov.
Tolstiy avoiding damage as Malakhov throws knees to the body.
Tolstiy stalling in the clinch but Malakhov improves position.
Malakhov lands a right hand.
Tolstiy avoiding damage as Malakhov throws knees to the body.
Tolstiy takes a shot to the head.

That has opened up Mishko Tolstiy's cut even more.
Malakhov is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Tolstiy is defending well for now.

Malakhov pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Malakhov drops Tolstiy with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Tolstiy looks back up at him and smiles so Malakhov waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Tolstiy is rocked!

Tolstiy is still on wobbly legs! Can Malakhov finish him?
Malakhov lands with a good body shot.
Both fighters step back and shake their arms out. Malakhov engages and cracks Tolstiy with a massive lead left hook - Tolstiy tumbles to the floor, out cold! What a shot! Malakhov is delighted - all that hard work in training paid off!
