PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Rajja Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Dessler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan comes into the arena with tubular bells blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dessler uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Khan.
Khan tries to move into range but Dessler moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Dessler wants to slow Khan down by chopping away at his legs.
Khan tried to score with a low kick but Dessler checks it.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Dessler lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Khan has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Khan and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Dessler fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Khan has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Dessler lands a jab to the nose.

Khan's corner calls for a 1-2. Khan obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Khan has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dessler.
Dessler lands a nice leg kick that just misses Khan's sensitive parts.
Khan throws out a loose jab but Dessler uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dessler connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Dessler throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Khan sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Khan takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Khan throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.

Dessler's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dessler duly obliges.

A low kick from Khan is predictable there
and Dessler cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Dessler thows a body kick. Khan tries to catch it but that hurt him.
Billy Dessler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan throws a chopping leg kick but Dessler manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Dessler throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Khan.
Dessler cracks Khan with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Dessler.
Khan misses with a low kick.
Dessler throws a body punch but Khan moves out of range.
Khan tries to land a front kick but Dessler steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Khan misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Dessler lands a high kick!

Dessler misses with a straight left.
Dessler's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Khan connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Dessler scrambles back to his feet.
Dessler throws a quick inside leg kick.
Dessler checks the leg kick.
Khan has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Dessler finds it's way round the side to connect with Khan's head.
Khan slips under a jab.
Khan shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Dessler as he jumps to the side.
Khan thumps Dessler with a low kick.
Khan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Dessler lands a high kick!

Khan moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Khan tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Dessler was well out of range. Poor timing from Khan.
Khan scores with a decent looking hook.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dessler pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Good exchange - Dessler coming out on top.
Dessler connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Dessler is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Khan had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Dessler is looking to slow Khan down with leg kicks.
Khan drops his hands momentarily and Dessler takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Dessler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Khan moves away.
Khan throws the left hand but Dessler avoids the punch easily.
Dessler shoots in but no luck this time.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dessler looks to land a right hand but Khan moved out of range.
The fighters circling - Khan throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dessler throws a body punch but Khan moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dessler fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Khan avoids it really well and circles away.
Khan avoids the body shot from Dessler.
Dessler bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Khan's head.
Khan tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Dessler manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dessler tries to clinch but Khan is having none of it.

Khan misses with a leg kick
and Dessler counters with a solid body kick.
Dessler needs to keep his hands up - Khan had a free shot at his head there.

Khan postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
