Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Ray Teevie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tiago Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Teevie comes to the cage accompanied by Stupid Kid. Mendez comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Trap Door kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Teevie lands a glancing blow to the side of Mendez's head.
Teevie slips under a jab from Mendez.

Mendez takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mendez is trying hard to land a takedown here. Teevie sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Mendez takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Teevie missing with a left hand there. Mendez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

and Teevie counters with a left and a right that stings Mendez.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Teevie is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Mendez.

Mendez closes the distance and clinches.
Mendez is trying to break free.

Mendez tightens his grip and picks Teevie up, before dumping him to the ground. Teevie manages to land in guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Teevie tries to land a sweep but no joy.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Teevie trying to keep a closed guard but Mendez is proving a slippery customer.
Teevie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mendez is one step ahead there.
Teevie controls Mendez momentarily but Mendez frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mendez stands and throws Teevie's legs to the side, diving into side control.
