Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Eric Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Saguro Takada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 26 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eric Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Saguro Takada!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Takada shoots in but Lee avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Lee throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Takada tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lee is in Takada's guard.

Takada is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Lee defends well.
Lee trying to control the position from guard on top but Takada is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Eric Lee just wasn't active enough.
Lee connects with a right hand. Takada shakes it off.
Lee works the jab nicely.
Takada looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Lee drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Lee thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Takada wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee wants to control from the top but Takada keeps moving.
Lee stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Takada swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Eric Lee wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Takada looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lee is fending him off so far but Takada persists. Nope, Lee circles away and we're back to standing.
Eric Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saguro Takada.
Takada drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Lee moves out of range of the strikes.

Lee looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lee is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Takada!
Lee wants to control the pace but Takada is squirming around nicely.
Takada keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lee landing strikes, looking to finish!
Takada is trying desperately to improve position.
Lee fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Lee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee fails to advance to Takada's back.
Lee looking to control but Takada is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Lee goes for an armbar but Takada turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Takada.

Takada must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Takada passes Lee's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Lee gets back to full guard.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Takada defends it easily.

Takada throws a big right hand that misses.
Takada stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Lee swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Lee tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Lee is looking for a triangle but Takada pushes his legs off easily.
Takada looking to sit in guard and control but Lee gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Lee wants to control from the top but Takada keeps moving.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Takada is looking for a triangle but Lee pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Lee dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lee wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Takada misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Lee throws a good cross that connects.
Takada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Lee sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Takada somewhat.
Eric Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Takada will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Takada looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well.
Eric Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saguro Takada.

Lee looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Takada is fending him off so far but Lee persists. Nope, Takada circles away and we're back to standing.
Takada walks into a stiff left hand from Lee.

Lee manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Takada on his heels. He'll look to pass Takada's guard now, I'm sure.
Takada looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lee is one step ahead there.
Lee trying to control but Takada is working from the bottom.
Lee slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Eric Lee wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Lee throws a right hand that Takada ducks under and follows up with a left that Takada also avoids with ease.
Lee shoots for a takedown but Takada saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Lee wants to control from the top but Takada keeps moving.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee passes Takada's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Takada is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Takada is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Lee's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Lee's back!
Lee trying to control the position but Takada manages to sink in the hooks.
Takada has the hooks in. Lee is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Takada is landing with strikes. Lee can't take much more of this.

You can see the frustration on Lee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Takada is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Lee has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Nice uppercut there from Takada.
That kick from Takada tenderised Lee's leg. Lee is trying to keep his angry face on.
Takada shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lee but Lee pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Takada connects with a body shot that sends Lee's belly button to the back.
Lee throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Lee closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Takada to the mat! Takada manages to get full guard.

Takada working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lee doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Lee manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Takada has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Takada takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Takada can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lee controls the pace.
Lee wants to control from the top but Takada keeps moving.

Eric Lee has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
A lazy left from Takada finds it's target.
Eric Lee is winning the standup battle so far.
Lee lands a slapping body shot.
Lee shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Takada pinned against the cage. Takada gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Takada fails to land the takedown.

Lee clobbers Takada with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Takada is trying hard to land a takedown here. Lee sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Eric Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Saguro Takada.

Lee closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Lee lands in his opponent's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lee is nestled in close to Takada, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Lee is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Takada is trying to get back to full guard.
Eric Lee is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Lee working over Takada with some ground and pound. Takada looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Lee is trying to control the action in half guard but Takada is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Lee lands strikes from half guard.
Takada flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Lee is looking for a kimura but Takada is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lee to get the leverage.
Lee seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Lee uses his free foot to push down on Takada's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Takada.
Lee tries to control but Takada wriggling away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lee breaks from Takada's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Takada is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Saguro Takada has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee warns Takada that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Lee with shots to the head and body - Takada looks very uncomfortable down there.
Takada can't escape the position.

Eric Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Lee has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
