Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Diego Carneiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Palhares (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carneiro has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Diego Carneiro could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Antonio Palhares's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Diego Carneiro!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Antonio Palhares!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palhares misses with a series of wild punches.

Palhares gets caught flat footed, as Carneiro shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Palhares keeping moving, preventing Carneiro from controlling successfully.
Palhares is controlling Carneiro's posture.
Carneiro is breathing heavily.
Palhares manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Carneiro manages to get himself to full guard.

Carneiro is working an open guard so Palhares takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Carneiro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Palhares bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Carneiro's guard.

Carneiro closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Carneiro trying to control the position from guard on top but Palhares is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Palhares pulls Carneiro in close to prevent any damage.

Palhares might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Carneiro kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Carneiro bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Carneiro throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Palhares tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Carneiro is in Palhares's guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Carneiro enables Palhares to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Carneiro manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Carneiro has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Palhares doesn't defend quickly enough and Carneiro has managed to lock this one up! Can Palhares escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Carneiro on a fantastic submission victory.
