The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Normous swivels and escapes.
Normous scores with a nice right hand.
A head kick misses from Oliveira.

and Oliveira counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Oliveira.
Oliveira throws a knee to the head but misses.
Normous fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

Oliveira has hold of one of Normous's legs. Normous is fighting the takedown attempt but Oliveira gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Normous wants to stand but Oliveira is controlling the position.
Normous trying to keep a closed guard but Oliveira is proving a slippery customer.
Normous can't keep his opponent in guard - Oliveira advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Normous tries to bench press Oliveira off him but Oliveira keeps the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Normous is trying to improve his position.
Normous is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Oliveira asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Oliveira takes a little break here. Normous wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Normous might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Oliveira decides to stand back up. Oliveira steps back and let's Normous get back to his feet.
Oliveira misses with a few strikes there.
Oliveira throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Normous.
Oliveira throws a sloppy head kick and Normous moves out of range easily.

Oliveira shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oliveira showed some decent athleticism there.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Oliveira in particular looking to stall.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Normous is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Oliveira jumps into side control!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Oliveira bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Normous tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Oliveira paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Oliveira shoots for a takedown but Normous saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dixie Normous is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Oliveira walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Normous lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Normous misses with a few strikes there.

Oliveira gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Oliveira jumps guard and drags Normous to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Oliveira is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Normous slaps away a takedown attempt from Oliveira, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Normous tries to close the distance and clinch up but Oliveira swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Dixie Normous is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Normous tries to clinch there but Oliveira circles away.
Normous moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Oliveira finds himself stumbling back on wobbly legs after being clipped by a right hand. He's up against the cage, ducking and weaving under Normous's strikes but an uppercut finds it's way through and Oliveira falls! - He's completely out of it and the ref jumps in to save him!
