Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tone Cross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Tone Cross!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carl Burns!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cross takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Burns tries to land a leg kick but Cross saw it coming and moves away.

It looks like Carl Burns has been cut.
Cross tries a head kick but it misses.
Cross lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tone Cross seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Burns throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Cross tries to bum rush Burns with a series of wild strikes but Burns uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Cross throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Burns's waist but Burns gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Cross off to one side.
Burns buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Burns pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cross takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
A nice inside leg kick there by Burns. That's going to slow Cross down.

Burns throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cross was covering up waiting for the punch and Burns finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Cross has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Burns can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Cross is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Burns defends well.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!

Cross chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Burns can pounce on him.

Burns feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Burns thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Burns winds up and cracks Cross with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Burns takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Tone Cross has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Cross misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Burns lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Cross flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Cross is in trouble now - Burns has advanced to mount!
Burns cracks Cross with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Cross sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Cross is looking to improve his position.
Burns tries to pass the half guard into mount. Cross knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well Burns has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
