The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Garcia looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Garcia lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Palmer throws a leg kick that misses.

Palmer clinches with his opponent.
Garcia goes for a takedown attempt but Palmer pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Palmer keeps the fight on the outside.
Garcia lands a glancing blow to the side of Palmer's head.
Garcia blocks the body kick.
Palmer tries a low kick but Garcia avoids it.
Garcia waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Palmer.

Palmer is looking to chop away at Garcia's legs.

Palmer swings and misses with a hook to the body.

and Garcia counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Palmer slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Palmer is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Palmer cracks Garcia with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Palmer in side control, throwing shots but Garcia defends.
Garcia tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Palmer wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Rolando Garcia will probably get the nod.

Palmer displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Garcia throws out the jab.

Garcia is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Palmer is trying to escape and Garcia transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Palmer is forced to tap! Nice work there by Garcia! Very nice indeed!
