Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juan Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Christopoulos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Juan Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Christopoulos!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Ian Loll and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Chavez.
Chavez gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Christopoulos.
Chavez changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Christopoulos tries to avoid it but Chavez manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Christopoulos to the ground. Christopoulos escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Christopoulos takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Christopoulos enables Chavez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Christopoulos manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

That was a close round but I would say that Juan Chavez will probably get the nod.
