The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The crowd cheers as El Batal lands an impressive looking overhand right. Genius doesn't seem phased though.
Genius tries to score a power double leg takedown but El Batal sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Genius somewhat.
Genius doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
El Batal tests Genius's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Genius shoots in looking for a takedown. El Batal tries to sprawl out of it but Genius keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. El Batal manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

El Batal uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Genius has time to react.

Genius shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as El Batal sprawls well. El Batal wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Genius gets slowly back to his feet.

Genius takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

El Batal feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Geniuss jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
