Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 19 - 0, fighting out of London, Alexander Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 29 - 0, fighting out of London, Tony Skins!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Young is defended easily by Skins.
Alexander Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Young misses with a jab, cross combination.
Skins tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Young scoring well with a low kick there.
Young misses with a wild combination.

Skins closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Young did well to prevent Skins getting side control.

Skins is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Young is just riding it out for now. Skins eventually gives up the hold.

Skins is working for a kimura but Young is defending it quite comfortably.

Skins is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Young is not content to let Skins control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Young makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Young drops Skins with a right and a left! Young comes rushing in but Skins regains his composure and manages to keep Young in guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Skins looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Young would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Young throwing strikes but missing.
Skins has a closed guard, preventing Young from standing up.
Skins avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skins pulls Young in to control the position.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Young throws an elbow that misses. Skins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Young's guard. Nice move by Skins!

Young can't keep his opponent in guard - Skins advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Young has hold of Skins's hands but Skins slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Young pushes Skins off and gets back to his feet.
Skins stuffs the takedown.
Skins shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Young pinned against the cage. Young gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Young fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexander Young. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Skins misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Young moves into range and connects with a jab.

Young looks to land a combination but Skins avoids it well.
Young throws a series of punches but Skins avoids them all with ease.

Skins has taken the fight to the clinch.
Young wants to get back to striking at distance but Skins won't allow it.
Skins tries a body shot but Young blocks it.
Come on Skins - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Skins displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Young.
Skins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Young throws a hook but Skins blocks it.
Skins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Young but Young pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Young's jab looks to have found its range, popping Skins under the eye.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alexander Young dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Young will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Skins manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Young on his heels. He'll look to pass Young's guard now, I'm sure.

Young sneaks out the side door and pushes Skins away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Skins shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Young sprawls well. Young wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Skins gets slowly back to his feet.
Young connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Skins throws a head kick that half lands.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Skins shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Young as he jumps to the side.
Alexander Young has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tony Skins.

so Skins counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Young pushes Skins off and scrambles back to his feet.

Skins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Skins wants it to stay on the feet.
Young looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Skins distracts Young with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Skins tries to free his leg and advance position but Young is retaining full guard.

Skins wants to control from the top but Young keeps moving.
Skins is pushing down on Young's leg trying to pass to half guard. Young is fighting to maintain full guard but Skins has managed to sneak the leg through.
Young tries to roll over but Skins keeps him under control.
Skins drops an elbow to the side of Young's head.
Skins seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Skins working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Skins is trying to control. Young wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Skins is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Skins gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Young shoots for a double leg takedown but Skins sprawls well. He's pushed Young's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Tony Skins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Young takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Skins shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Young as he avoids it easily.
Skins is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Skins shoots for a takedown but Young saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Skins drops his hands momentarily and Young takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.

Young scores with a one two! Skins had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Skins gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Young.
Skins shoots for a takedown but Young saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Skins lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Young!
Young is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

Skins jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Young is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Young and Skins has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Young regains half guard there - taking advantage of Skins's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Young wants to get back to his feet.

Skins is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Young looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Skins looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Young keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Skins decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Young stuffs the takedown.

Young decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Tony Skins.
I think Skins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
