The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Onki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Jonas Sakalas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sakalas throws a chopping leg kick but Onki manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Onki displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Sakalas.

Onki avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Sakalas tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Onki paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Onki's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Onki lands with a nice body punch.

Sakalas is staying active underneath Onki, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Onki is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Sakalas is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kanki Onki.
