Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Sylva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nolan McDonald (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Hugh Johnson and Summer Carpenter.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sylva wants to clinch up but McDonald keeps it at a distance.
No luck for Sylva with that takedown attempt.
Sylva looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? McDonald is fending him off so far but Sylva persists. Nope, McDonald circles away and we're back to standing.
McDonald fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sylva plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
It looks like Nolan McDonald has been cut.
McDonald stalks Sylva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Sylva's face. Sylva staggers backwards, shaken.

McDonald is looking for a sweep. Sylva is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sylva is looking to take a break and control but McDonald is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sylva wants to pass to mount but McDonald is defending the position.

McDonald is trying to escape and get back to his feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sylva fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. McDonald sprawls well initially but Sylva persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Sylva is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McDonald has escaped the position, nice work there.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

McDonald throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Sylva moves into the clinch successfully.
Sylva tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McDonald smiles and moves away.

McDonald throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Sylva is trying to work for a single leg takedown but McDonald pulls him back up using the underhooks.
McDonald tries to work over Sylva's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
McDonald wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sylva tries to break the clinch but McDonald is controlling the position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Thiago Sylva will probably get the nod.

McDonald tries to bum rush Sylva with a series of wild strikes but Sylva uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sylva is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

and McDonald counters with a single leg into guard. Sylva didn't expect that.
McDonald wanted to stand there but Sylva had control of the position.
Sylva is looking for a triangle but McDonald pushes his legs off easily.

and McDonald counters with a stiff right hand.

and McDonald counters with a big head kick but Sylva shrugs it off.
Sylva wants to clinch up but McDonald keeps it at a distance.
McDonald misses with a wild combination.
McDonald tries for a takedown but Sylva sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Good leg kick by McDonald there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
McDonald misses with a series of wild punches.
McDonald looking to land some kicks to the body here.

McDonald closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Sylva to the mat! Sylva manages to get full guard.
McDonald wanted to stand there but Sylva had control of the position.
Sylva had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. McDonald is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Sylva Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take McDonald's back instead.
Sylva wants to control but McDonald manages to buck him off and is now in Sylva's guard! Nice work there by McDonald!
Sylva is pulling down on McDonald's head. It's preventing any offense from McDonald, at least for the moment.

Sylva looking to hit a scissor sweep but McDonald is one step ahead there.
McDonald wants to stand and escape but instead Sylva has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Sylva looking to sit in guard and control but McDonald gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sylva is trying to keep McDonald in close.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Sylva escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. McDonald gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
McDonald is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Nolan McDonald has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sylva trying to keep a closed guard but McDonald is proving a slippery customer.

Nolan McDonald comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Sylva has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
