Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jeff Lebowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thor Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lebowski comes into the arena with The Man in Me blaring out of the sound system. Silva has chosen Vlad the Impaler as his entrance music. Thor Silva has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva keeps Lebowski at a distance using the push kick.
Silva displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Lebowski.

A head kick misses from Silva.
Silva throws a leg kick but Lebowski sees it coming and moves out of range.
Lebowski tries for a takedown but Silva circles away easily

and Silva counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Lebowski is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Silva controls from within his opponent's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lebowski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Thor Silva has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Lebowski misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Silva misses with a head kick.
Lebowski defending well as Silva loads up on a big left hand.
Lebowski shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Silva as he avoids it easily.

Lebowski wants to work for an arm triangle but Silva is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Lebowski is looking for a kimura but Silva is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lebowski to get the leverage.

Lebowski is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Silva can do anything to dispel that myth.

Lebowski is working for a kimura but Silva is defending it quite comfortably.

Lebowski has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Silva defend it? Lebowski steps over the head and cranks it - Silva is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Lebowski!
