Cronkite comes to the cage accompanied by Croc song!. Stokes is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Kanye West - I Don't Like ft. G.O.O.D. Anthony Stokes has the eye of the tiger tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cronkite dives in and scores a takedown into Stokes's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cronkite accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Cronkite wants to pass the guard but Stokes is keeping the position.
Cronkite sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Stokes's guard.
Cronkite perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Cronkite seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Stokes for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Melvin Cronkite just wasn't active enough.

Cronkite's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Melvin Cronkite.
Stokes missing with a left hand there. Cronkite was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.

Cronkite closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Stokes to the mat! Stokes manages to get full guard.
Cronkite wants to control from the top but Stokes keeps moving.
