Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Henry Ngo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Edwards (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edwards has chosen The Who - Saturday Night's Alright For Fighting as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Henry Ngo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 9 - 1, fighting out of Sydney, Mark Edwards!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ngo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Ngo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Edwards trying to control but Ngo postures up.
Ngo tries to stand but can't do so whilst Edwards controls his leg.
Ngo not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Edwards wants to control but Ngo is keeping busy.
Ngo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ngo is working away from the top position though.
Edwards wants to get back to full guard.
Ngo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Ngo in particular looking to stall.
Edwards is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Ngo fails with a takedown attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Edwards's jab looks to have found its range, popping Ngo under the eye.


It looks like Henry Ngo has been cut.
Ngo takes a kick to the side of the head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Edwards - that will leave a mark!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ngo takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Ngo.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Henry Ngo. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ngo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edwards's waist but Edwards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ngo off to one side.

Edwards fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ngo.
Ngo uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Edwards.
Ngo closes this distance looking for a takedown but Edwards circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ngo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Edwards's waist but Edwards gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ngo off to one side.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Ngo fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Henry Ngo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Edwards misses with an uppercut. Ngo saw that one coming.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Edwards leaves Ngo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
A nice leg kick lands there from Edwards.

Ngo takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Edwards misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Edwards cracks the inside of Ngo's front leg.
Edwards lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ngo fails with a takedown attempt.
Edwards scores with a nice right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ngo slips under a jab.
Edwards slaps away a takedown attempt from Ngo, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Edwards throws a leg kick

and Ngo counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Edwards is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ngo is aware though and is defending well.
Edwards is trying to keep Ngo in close.
Edwards is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Ngo sitting in guard, not really doing much.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Edwards keeping moving, preventing Ngo from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Edwards showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Edwards throws a low kick but Ngo moves out of range easily.
A decent looking cross lands there for Edwards.
Edwards throws a half hearted mid kick.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Edwards throws a looping overhand right but Ngo ducks down to avoid it.
Edwards lets his hands go wild with a nice combination. Left! Right! Uppercut! Spinning backfist! Ngo goes down and covers up as Edwards starts wailing on him! The ref watches the action closely before stepping in and putting a stop to the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mark Edwards!
Mark Edwards tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
