Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Cain Cormeir (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Te Huna (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cormeir comes to the cage accompanied by -N- The Bay. Te Huna comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Chevelle-Jars kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, James Te Huna!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cormeir shoots in but Te Huna avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Cormeir shoots in for a takedown but Te Huna shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Te Huna slaps away a takedown attempt from Cormeir, before circling back to the center of the mat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cain Cormeir. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Cormeir uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Te Huna.
Nice takedown defense from Te Huna. No joy for Cormeir on that attempt.

Cormeir changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Te Huna looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Cormeir looks to land a left hand but Te Huna moved out of range nicely.
Te Huna displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cormeir.
Te Huna throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Cormeir.
Te Huna keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

and Te Huna cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Cormeir manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Te Huna on his heels. He'll look to pass Te Huna's guard now, I'm sure.
Te Huna wants to stand up but Cormeir is controlling him.
Cormeir lands a couple of elbows.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Cormeir accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Cormeir shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Te Huna but Te Huna pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Te Huna parries the strikes from Cormeir easily there. Cormeir is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Te Huna to escape.

Te Huna is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Cormeir asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Cormeir looks up at the clock and then as Te Huna takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Cormeir smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cormeir in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Cormeir shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Te Huna is wriggling around but Cormeir manages to pass to half guard.
Cormeir looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Te Huna wants to get back to his feet.

Te Huna makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Cormeir shoots in for a double leg but Te Huna sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cormeir tries to clinch there but Te Huna circles away.
Cormeir fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Te Huna fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Te Huna is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Cormeir rather than just go for the knockout.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cormeir.

Te Huna throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cormeir stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Te Huna connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

James Te Huna seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Cormeir misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
James Te Huna is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Cormeir throws a right and a left that Te Huna avoids nicely.

Cormeir shoots in looking for a takedown. Te Huna tries to sprawl out of it but Cormeir keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Te Huna manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Cormeir takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Cormeir shoots in for a takedown but Te Huna shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Nice takedown defense from Te Huna. No joy for Cormeir on that attempt.
Cormeir takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Te Huna scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Te Huna throws a right and a left that Cormeir avoids nicely.
Te Huna lands a jab to the head.

Cormeir closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Te Huna did well to prevent Cormeir getting side control.
James Te Huna has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

I would just about give that final round to James Te Huna.
I think Cormeir has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
