Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Robin Vanhood!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jalen Hill!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Nard Betker.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Vanhood avoids it really well and circles away.
Vanhood misses the shot to the body.
Hill shoots in but Vanhood avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Hill changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Vanhood tries to avoid it but Hill manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Vanhood to the ground. Vanhood escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Robin Vanhood has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jalen Hill.
Hill on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Vanhood throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hill.
Hill fails to land the takedown.
Hill shoots in looking for a takedown but Vanhood manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Hill's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Vanhood uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
It looks like Jalen Hill has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Sloppy strikes from Vanhood. Those never looked like landing.
Hill tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Vanhood swivels and escapes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Hill will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Vanhood moves into range and connects with a jab.
Vanhood throws a nice inside leg kick.
Robin Vanhood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hill looks winded!
Vanhood tries to bum rush Hill with a series of wild strikes but Hill uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Vanhood displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Hill.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Vanhood lands a big head kick that sends Hill to the canvas! Vanhood follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Robin Vanhood!
