The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gerard thows a left - swing and a miss!
Monster is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Monster dives in and grabs Gerard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gerard pushes down on Monster's head and hops out.
Gerard swats away the attempt to clinch by Monster.
Gerard missing with a left hand there. Monster was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Monster looks to clinch
and Gerard counters with a stiff right hand.
Gerard connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Monster's hands.
Gerard throws a right hand that Monster ducks under and follows up with a left that Monster also avoids with ease.
Gerard tries to bum rush Monster with a series of wild strikes but Monster uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Monster just misses with a punch to the body.
Gerard with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Monster to score with a decent uppercut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Gerard goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

It looks like Dingo Monster has been cut.
Gerard connects with the punch.

A chopping leg kick lands by Monster.
Monster wants to clinch.
Gerard wants to slow Monster down by chopping away at his legs.

Monster moves out of range as Gerard strikes.

Gerard takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

It looks like Gilles Gerard has been cut.
A right-left combo lands from Gerard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Monster doesn't manage to clinch there - Gerard circles away.
Gerard misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gerard scores with a nice head shot.
Monster tries to close the distance and clinch but Gerard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Gerard avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Monster throws a quick head kick that knocks Gerard silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Monster is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.
