Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leo Rodrigues (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Miran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rodrigues's entrance music is smell like teen spirit. A fine choice. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Leo Rodrigues!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Luke Miran!
The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodrigues is looking to clinch.
Miran looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Miran gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Rodrigues trying to control but Miran is working from the bottom.

Rodrigues postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Miran is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Rodrigues, into his guard.

Rodrigues seems keen to control Miran's posture.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Leo Rodrigues just wasn't active enough.
Miran has his takedown stuffed
and Rodrigues counters with a low kick, right behind Miran 's knee.

Rodrigues closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Miran's guard.
Rodrigues might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Miran can't keep his opponent in guard - Rodrigues advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Leo Rodrigues has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

Rodrigues bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rodrigues tries to stand but can't do so whilst Miran controls his leg.

Leo Rodrigues overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Miran is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Miran drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miran jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miran lands a couple of digs.

Miran drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Miran jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Miran is looking to stand up but Rodrigues isn't so interested in that idea.
Miran has a closed guard, preventing Rodrigues from standing up.

Rodrigues throws a strike but Miran rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rodrigues is looking for a triangle but Miran pushes his legs off easily.
Miran pushes down on Rodrigues's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Miran is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Miran is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Miran is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Rodrigues is just riding it out for now. Miran eventually gives up the hold.

Luke Miran showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

No luck for Miran with that takedown attempt.

Rodrigues throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Miran tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Rodrigues is in Miran's guard.

Miran takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rodrigues accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

We're going to have a standup here because Leo Rodrigues wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Rodrigues.

Rodrigues is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Miran knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well Rodrigues has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
