The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A leg kick checked by Phyyylips.
Phyyylips fails in his attempt to clinch.
Phyyylips throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Phyyylips is defended easily by Michaels.
A jab from Phyyylips misses.
Phyyylips tries to land a leg kick but Michaels saw it coming and moves away.
Phyyylips throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Michaels stalks Phyyylips and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Phyyylips's face. Phyyylips staggers backwards, shaken.

It looks like Paul Phyyylips has been cut.
Michaels is looking to land body kicks.

Phyyylips closes the distance and clinches.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Michaels is trying to force a seperation but Phyyylips has the dominant position.

Phyyylips breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Phyyylips.
Michaels misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Some wild striking there from Michaels.

Michaels lands a left and a right that send Phyyylips crashing to the mat, dazed. Michaels thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Michaels scores with a jab to the body.
Phyyylips changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Michaels tries to avoid it but Phyyylips manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Michaels to the ground. Michaels escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Mike Michaels has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Phyyylips.
Phyyylips looks winded!
Michaels misses with a jab, cross combination.
The fighters circle momentarily. Michaels darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Michaels takes a swing at Phyyylips's ribcage but misses.
Phyyylips fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Michaels throws a right and a left that both miss.

Michaels wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Phyyylips needs to keep his hands up - Michaels had a free shot at his head there.

Michaels lands a slapping body shot.
Michaels lands with a nice body punch.
Michaels swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Michaels misses with a two punch combination.
Michaels keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Michaels lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Phyyylips circles away quickly and effectively.
Sloppy strikes from Michaels. Those never looked like landing.
Phyyylips walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Phyyylips is trying desperately to land a takedown but Michaels is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Phyyylips.
Phyyylips shoots for a takedown but Michaels saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Michaels connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Michaels scores with a sloppy right hand. Phyyylips should have avoided that one.
Phyyylips is still on wobbly legs! Can Michaels finish him?
A head kick misses from Michaels.
Phyyylips drops his hands for a split second and Michaels immediately capitalizes on the opportunity by smashing a powerful hook into Phyyylips face, sending his mouthguard sailing through the air, much to the delight of the crowd. Michaels follows up with a right hand that knocks Phyyylips into next week. He's out cold and this fight is over!
