PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Gzrel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gim Allon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gzrel comes into the arena with Warriors Dance blaring out of the sound system. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gim Allon!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allon takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gzrel walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Allon checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Allon scores with a takedown into Gzrel's guard.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Allon trying to control but Gzrel is working from the bottom.
Allon throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Gzrel works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Allon wants to control from the top but Gzrel keeps moving.

Gzrel has hold of Allon's hands but Allon slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Allon wants to take a breather but Gzrel is having none of it.
Allon is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Allon connects with a nice short shot to Gzrel's temple.
Allon throws a strike but Gzrel avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Allon is working Gzrel over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Gzrel wants to get back to his feet but Allon is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Allon stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gzrel swivels though and keeps the full guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Allon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

It looks like Gabriel Gzrel has been cut.
Allon avoids the body shot from Gzrel.
Allon shoots in for a takedown but Gzrel shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Allon throws a head kick but Gzrel moves out of range.
Allon lands a body shot.
Gzrel tries to clinch up but Allon circles away and keeps his distance.
Allon throws a front kick aimed at Gzrel's knee but Gzrel avoids it well.

Allon drops Gzrel with a left right combo! Allon follows him down to the ground into side control.

Allon lands a few punches from side control.
Allon misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Allon looks up at the clock and then as Gzrel takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Allon smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Allon scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Gzrel to see if he's OK.

Gzrel is rocked!

Gzrel takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Oh Gzrel is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Allon is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Gzrel is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Allon tries for a kimura but Gzrel is defending well.
Allon lands a strong strike to the head of Gzrel. That's dazed him! Allon looking to finish here. Gzrel is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Allon lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!
