PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jie Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mad Max (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Jie Liu has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Jie Liu seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Max misses with a body kick.
The fighters circling - Liu throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Max throws a head kick but Liu moves out of range.
Max fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Liu closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Liu wants to take a breather but Max is having none of it.
Liu tries to pass the half guard into mount. Max knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Liu throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Liu is keen to just control but Max is a slippery customer.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Liu lands a nice short elbow.
Max controlling the position for now.

Max won't allow Liu to pass to mount.
Liu winds up and cracks Max with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Max is not content to let Liu control the position.

Liu passes the guard and advances to mount!
Liu looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Liu wants to control the pace but Max is squirming around nicely.
Liu landing strikes from the mount and Max is in trouble!
Liu is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Max can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Max is rocked!
Liu looking to finish Max with some ground and pound. This is bad for Max!
Max is still in real trouble! Can Liu finish him?
Liu postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Max bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Liu and the fight is over!
