The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silva darts in and clinches Mixirica up against the cage.
Silva tries to score a body lock takedown but Mixirica shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Mixirica drags the fight down to the ground.

Silva gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mixirica wants to clinch.
Mixirica shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Silva counters with a series of strikes. Mixirica will be more careful next time no doubt.
Mixirica misses the jab.
Mixirica shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silva as he jumps to the side.
Mixirica shoots in but Silva avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marcio Mixirica. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mixirica closes this distance looking for a takedown but Silva circles away.
Silva throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mixirica.

Silva slaps away a takedown attempt from Mixirica, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Silva should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Silva scores with a three punch combo!

It looks like Marcio Mixirica has been cut.
No joy there for Silva, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Mixirica pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Mixirica has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

Mixirica is rocked!
Silva moves out of range of the body kick from Mixirica.
Oh Mixirica is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mixirica tries to close the distance and clinch up but Silva swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Silva closes the distance and lands a crisp combination that knocks Mixirica out cold! Mixirica corner are devastated, head in hands behind our commentary position. Poor guys.

After the fight, Daniel Silva was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
