Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Gunther Wehlpapp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lasse Lock (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Gunther Wehlpapp!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Lasse Lock!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Marco Blurström and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lock scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Lock is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Wehlpapp doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lock.
Lock trying to pass the guard but Wehlpapp defending well.

Lock seems to be working for a kimura but Wehlpapp defends the submission attempt.
Wehlpapp wants to improve his position but Lock is controlling well.

Lock postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Wehlpapp to stand up.

Wehlpapp darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lock has a hand on Wehlpapp's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wehlpapp takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Wehlpapp looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Lock is just holding on here. Wehlpapp manages to take his back.
Wehlpapp not allowing Lock to control his hands.
Lock rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Lock has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Wehlpapp is working away from the top position though.
Lock punching from the bottom.

Wehlpapp looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Lock is trying to control but can't.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Lock looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Wehlpapp uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lock.

Lock looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Wehlpapp actively working from the bottom here.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Lock lands with a punch from half guard.
Lock is looking to take a break and control but Wehlpapp is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Lock looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Lock trying to control the action but Wehlpapp is working from the bottom.

Lock trying to pass the guard but Wehlpapp defending well.
Lock looks gassed!

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Wehlpapp ducks under a wild hook from Lock.
Lock tries to bum rush Wehlpapp with a series of wild strikes but Wehlpapp uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lock tries for a takedown but Wehlpapp circles away easily

and Wehlpapp counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lock's guard now.
Lock looking for a sweep. Not yet Lock, not yet.
Wehlpapp wants to control from the top but Lock keeps moving.

Lock had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wehlpapp is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Lock Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wehlpapp's back instead.
Wehlpapp manages to reverse the position and now he's in Lock's guard. Nice work there by Wehlpapp.

Lock trying to strike off his back.
Lock is trying to control the position but Wehlpapp postures up.
Wehlpapp pushes down on Lock's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lock is looking to control Wehlpapp's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lock avoid being mounted?
Lock is refusing to be controlled, as Wehlpapp sits in half guard.
Lock tries to roll over but Wehlpapp keeps him under control.
Lock makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Lock.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gunther Wehlpapp will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Lock misses with a takedown

and Wehlpapp counters with a single leg into guard. Lock didn't expect that.
Lock is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Wehlpapp stopping the sweep attempt from Lock.
Lock is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Wehlpapp preventing the sweep.
Wehlpapp passes Lock's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Lock is looking to escape.
Wehlpapp prevents Lock from improving his position.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Lock keeping moving, preventing Wehlpapp from controlling successfully.
Lock trying to keep a closed guard but Wehlpapp is proving a slippery customer.
Wehlpapp preventing the sweep.
Lock is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lock lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wehlpapp!
Lock looking to control but Wehlpapp is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Lock looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Lock takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lock working the ground and pound effectively.

Lock is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Wehlpapp can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Wehlpapp in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Lock in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.


Wehlpapp is rocked!
Wehlpapp is bucking up trying to escape but Lock cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Oh Wehlpapp is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lock working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Wehlpapp turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Lock off and cradles Wehlpapp's limp body as Lock celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Lasse Lock!
