Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Boyd Rannoch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marty Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Boyd Rannoch has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Boyd Rannoch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Marty Evans!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Steven Brown and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rannoch jabs at Evans's body.
Evans takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Evans fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Rannoch to the ground. Evans is now in Rannoch's guard.

Evans gets to his feet. Rannoch looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Evans shoots in for a takedown but Rannoch shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Rannoch shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Evans eats them both and turns towards Rannoch to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Rannoch as he avoids it easily.
Evans is trying hard to land a takedown here. Rannoch sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Boyd Rannoch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marty Evans.

Evans drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Evans doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Rannoch counters with a three punch combo that has Evans backing up. Evans nods at Rannoch to acknowledge the strikes.
Boyd Rannoch is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A left lands for Rannoch.
Evans throws a jab but it's blocked by Rannoch.
No joy there for Rannoch, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt - Rannoch sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Evans looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rannoch is fending him off so far but Evans persists. Nope, Rannoch circles away and we're back to standing.
Evans avoids a punch combination nicely.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Rannoch keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Marty Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Rannoch sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.

Nice uppercut there from Rannoch.
Evans throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rannoch's waist but Rannoch gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Evans off to one side.
A jab from Rannoch finds it's way through Evans's defenses.


It looks like Marty Evans has been cut.
Rannoch lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Evans drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Rannoch wants to stand but Evans is controlling the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Evans thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Boyd Rannoch dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Marty Evans's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Evans slips a jab and a cross from Rannoch.
Evans fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Rannoch connects with a single shot there.
Evans misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Evans tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Rannoch swivels and escapes.
Boyd Rannoch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marty Evans.

Evans scores with a takedown into Rannoch's guard.
Evans wants to control from the top but Rannoch keeps moving.
Evans stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rannoch swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Evans trying to control but Rannoch is working from the bottom.
Rannoch is looking to stand up but Evans isn't so interested in that idea.

Evans in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Rannoch keeping moving, preventing Evans from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Marty Evans.

Evans drives through and clinches with Rannoch against the cage.
Rannoch is trying to break free.

Evans drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rannoch would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Rannoch stopping the sweep attempt from Evans.
Evans manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans looking to control but Rannoch is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Evans has control of Rannoch's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Rannoch regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Evans jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rannoch is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rannoch and Evans has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marty Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! Rannoch's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Rannoch scores with a body shot.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Evans throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Rannoch tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Evans is in Rannoch's guard.

Evans thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Rannoch can't keep his opponent in guard - Evans advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Marty Evans has got the better of the ground game so far.
Evans perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Evans throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Evans is trying to work for a kimura but Rannoch is defending well.
Evans works his way into full mount!

Evans is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Rannoch is surviving well by controlling Evans's body position as best he can.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rannoch is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Evans goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rannoch is on top in guard.

Evans manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Evans is defended easily by Rannoch.
Rannoch lands with a nice combination. Evans backs away looking to recover.
Rannoch lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Rannoch.
Evans shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Rannoch but Rannoch pushes him off and we're back to square one.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Evans fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Boyd Rannoch has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marty Evans.
Some wild striking there from Rannoch.
Rannoch stuffs the takedown attempt from Evans. Evans gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rannoch misses with a few strikes there.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marty Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Evans has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
