Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tomas Hrdlicka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Gravus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Tomas Hrdlicka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Phil Gravus!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hrdlicka darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Hrdlicka wants to pass to mount but Gravus is defending the position.
Hrdlicka thows a huge punch but Gravus dodges it nicely.
Gravus is looking to improve his position.
Gravus is trying to control but can't.

Hrdlicka seems to be looking for submissions.
Hrdlicka is trying to control the action in half guard but Gravus is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Hrdlicka drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gravus looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gravus looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gravus!
Gravus tries to move to mount but Hrdlicka blocks the move with his legs.
Gravus wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hrdlicka keeps working.

Gravus tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Hrdlicka tries to buck Gravus off but Gravus is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hrdlicka gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Gravus seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hrdlicka is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gravus pulls his head out easily.
Gravus wants to pass the guard but Hrdlicka is defending well.
Hrdlicka is trying to control but can't.
Hrdlicka wants to improve his position but Gravus is controlling well.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hrdlicka is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Gravus pulls his head out easily.

Hrdlicka is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Gravus is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Gravus is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Gravus fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Gravus moves in looking to clinch but Hrdlicka pushes him off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hrdlicka drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hrdlicka jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Tomas Hrdlicka just wasn't active enough.

and Hrdlicka counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Hrdlicka misses with a hook
and Gravus finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Gravus is breathing heavily.

Hrdlicka shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Gravus manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hrdlicka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hrdlicka is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Hrdlicka won't allow Gravus to sweep him here.

Hrdlicka wants to control from the top but Gravus keeps moving.
Hrdlicka pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gravus is keeping the position for now.

Hrdlicka drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Gravus dives on top into guard.
Hrdlicka is trying to control the position but Gravus postures up.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hrdlicka is trying to hold Gravus in close to prevent damage but Gravus has managed to pass into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gravus gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hrdlicka to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Hrdlicka drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gravus manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hrdlicka has Gravus in his guard.

Hrdlicka escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gravus gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Phil Gravus.

Gravus is looking to control Hrdlicka's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gravus avoid being mounted?
Gravus takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Hrdlicka wants to lay and pray for a moment but Gravus keeps working.

Hrdlicka is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Gravus doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hrdlicka.

Well Hrdlicka has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

A less than humble Tomas Hrdlicka misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
