Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between King Jobber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rock Barden (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Jobber crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Barden - the referee stops the clock and Jobber gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Barden. Jobber manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Jobber lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Barden pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.

Jobber has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Barden uses from the top position.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Barden wanted to stand there but Jobber had control of the position.
Barden must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jobber working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Barden doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Barden manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jobber has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Barden. Oh but Jobber has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Barden goes limp - he's gone! Jobber jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
