PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Endeavor Slater (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dean Corcoran (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Corcoran has chosen Lonely Boy as his entrance music. Corcoran has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Dean Corcoran has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Endeavor Slater!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Dean Corcoran!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corcoran's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Slater connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Corcoran scrambles back to his feet.
Corcoran takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Corcoran looks winded!
Slater circles away from the clinch attempt.
Slater connects with the punch.


It looks like Dean Corcoran has been cut.
Corcoran fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Corcoran is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Corcoran takes a kick to the side of the head.
Slater dips to his left and cracks Corcoran with an uppercut!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Slater scores with a decent looking hook.
Slater lands a really nice looking cross but Corcoran seems unphased.
Slater with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Corcoran tries to keep at a distance but Slater has taken the fight into the clinch.

Slater breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Corcoran sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Slater lands with a nice body punch.
Slater lands a right hook to the body.
Slater lands a head shot.
Dean Corcoran seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Slater!


Corcoran is rocked!

Corcoran tries to keep at a distance but Slater has taken the fight into the clinch.
Corcoran is still on wobbly legs! Can Slater finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slater gets through Corcoran's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Slater tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Slater lands a right hand that snaps the head of Corcoran backwards.
Slater lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Slater lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Slater throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Corcorans head.
Corcoran keeps control of Slater as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Corcoran tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Slater avoids it.
Slater is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Slater lands with a light punch inside.
A shot in the inside from Slater.
Slater wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Slater gets through Corcoran's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Corcoran's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Slater is trying to break free.
Slater working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Slater tries to circle away but Corcoran has him pinned against the cage.
Slater working hard to break the clinch.
Corcoran misses with a knee strike.
Corcoran blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Slater swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Slater stalling in the clinch.
Slater misses with a hook from the clinch.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Slater.

Slater manages to break the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Slater throws a head kick but Corcoran moves out of range.
Slater goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Slater lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Corcoran takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Slater pushes Corcoran up against the cage in a clinch.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Corcoran using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Slater has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Slater gets through Corcoran's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Corcoran dodges an elbow strike from Slater.
Slater throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Slater trying to control the position but instead, Corcoran has worked for underhooks and has pushed Slater into the cage.
Slater throws an elbow that misses.
Slater scores with a shot to the side of Corcoran's head.

Slater breaks the clinch.

Slater closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Corcoran throws an elbow but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Slater lands with a short shot to the head.
Slater doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Slater misses with the head strike.
Slater working hard to break the clinch.
Corcoran missing with knees to the body.
Slater is trying to break the clinch but Corcoran has him pressed against the cage.
Corcoran avoids the elbow strike from Slater, against the cage.

Slater escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Corcoran fails in his attempt to clinch.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Slater connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Corcoran gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Slater.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Slater with a nice cross.
Slater connects with a solid leg kick.
Slater jabs Corcoran to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Slater scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Endeavor Slater dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Dean Corcoran's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Slater connects with a superb combination that knocks Corcoran out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Slater before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Corcoran!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Endeavor Slater!
